Son of Akira was born down by the river, in a little tent, under a bad sign and a blood red sky, when the moon turned a fire red, among other things. He has been making music on and off for the past ten years, under the Son of Akira moniker for five, and with his motley crew, The Bicycle Thieves, for roughly three. Before that he was nameless and faceless, like the void itself, a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a sharp three-piece suit. He does not make music for fame, nor riches, but only to make people happy. Some would say to make another happy is to be rich beyond compare; Son of Akira has waxed philosophical on this concept for many a spell, but has yet to reach a definite conclusion. He is a devoted member of IDMf and is always happy, ready and willing to help those less experienced than him, as well a11s be helped by those more experienced.
Son of Akira has two tracks on the IDMF label. One, “Anteater” from IDMf002: Concord, and two, “Pandhandler Interlude (Life is Beautiful Part Two)” from IDMf003: Mind Tree. The first is a dense and brooding ambient piece (too dense and brooding..? You be the judge, my friend) and the second is an eclectic mix of traditional Chinese instrumention followed by overdriven crunchiness and stuttering percussion.
