Fidelium

Fidelium, of San Francisco, CA, has been working in the area of live-sound, sound production, professional musicianship, and music promotion for well over a decade. A classically-trained pianist since he was seven years old, guitarist since he was 14, and most recently an advancing violinist, he has been composing in genres of music ranging from classical/orchestrial to experimental to rock to electronic music (mainly IDM, Drum and Bass, and Ambient) for most of his life. He is currently studying music theory and composition and lives a life completely embellished by and focused on music.

Baker began producing electronic music under the moniker of Fidelium in 2004. His style ranges from ambient sound textures to orchestrally driven art music and he is driven to constant broadening of his production style, as he incorporates his wide musical taste into his sound. Before taking a hiatus from producing electronic music to further study modern musical theory in 2007, he had unofficially released three albums: Believe Me This is Home, Rhododendron, and Llell. His track Ibix is also featured on IDMf001, and is his last release before his two year break from producing. His anticipated return to the electronic music field came in the winter of 2009 with the release of an EP. Fidelium re-mastered and released a new version of his Believe Me This Is Home EP and offered it for free from his website here.

His track “God Tank” was featured on IDMf010: Between The Silence And Story, and a remix album of the same track is expected from him early 2011.

Fidelium (also known as “Fiddy” by his peers) is an admin on IDM Forums as well as head of the IDMf Netlabel.
