Atoms of an Addict

Atoms of an Addict” is crafted by Aaron Perez, an experimental instrumentalist and a electronic sound designer from Tucson, AZ and resides in Kingston, WA.

In 2006, Aaron Perez started “Atoms of an Addict” with drummer Danny Mullen. They formed a two-piece post rock/electronic/experimental band using; loops of guitar/bass; programming; and midi controllers. Sometime in early 2007, the band reduced down to a one man project, and Aaron started to compose electronic music (known as idm) by sound designing with computers.

The music is an adventure through lush filled landscapes that are snuggled with amazing, lovely creatures. While robots are programming blankets of evolving melodies and rhythms. This beautifully arranged, down-tempo/electronic music could be your emotive lullaby.

Recording the music using; software synthesizers; programming; midi controllers; samples; a rhodes piano; and guitar. Aaron collaborated with many local artists and played with other local Kitsap bands, such as: Lick Like a Lion, All of the Olives (IG88/Branden Clarke, Aaron Perez, and other previous band members), Les Dexia, and IG88.

Never releasing any albums, “The Womb” will be Atoms of an Addict’s first release. The album is still in the process of being released and mastered. But there are free singles for download @http://soundcloud.com/atoms-of-an-addict on the Soundcloud widget/audio player called “Track Snacks

I’m a huuuuge fan of (almost) everything you’ve done.
I had a proud moment today when ‘Cozy’, my No.1played song on iTunes, reached a playcount of over 1000, ‘Maybe If You Just Listen’ is ranked second with a play count of just under 400.
I’d love to see more or you released here, keep it up.

Thank you so much Ali. I’ve had a long delay/drought with my music production cause I recently just had a baby girl (October 19th, 2010). So my life has become more of a Father then a musician @ this time. But I’m playing everyday still and hopefully soon I will release new material. Will be almost completely different, going to be using strictly instruments (guitar, bass, drums, rhodes, and electronic programming like always). Been such a big fan of post-rock/live electronics/instrumental/experimental and I’m hoping to show that influence in the new album. A lot inspiration has come from LITE, The Redneck Manifesto, The Mercury Program, Lymbyc Systym, Star Slinger, Telefon Tel Aviv, Textual, The Mars Volta (Omar Rodriguez-Lopez), ISIS, and big favortie Radiohead (Thom Yorke). Thank you again and you can communicate with me via Facebook. Stay Tuned.
